Corrupt (Devil’s Night #1) – Penelope Douglas

‘And from Michael – as well as Damon, Will and Kai – I learned to breathe fire. I learned to walk as if the path were carved for me and me alone, and to treat the world as if it should know I was coming.’ – Rika Fane (‘Corrupt’ – Penelope Douglas)

I wasn’t sure about this book at first. A bunch of spoiled grown men, who apparently have nothing better to do than go back to their home town and party with teenagers, and a clueless sheltered rich girl who is ready to make it on her own in the big scary world.

But as the plot unravelled the story became more and more addictive!

I desperately wanted to know what happened in the past that triggered all the hatred and obsession. And what made that obsession turn into passion, and fear into lust. I hate explaining the plot, and very rarely do I reveal any spoilers, so this review is going to have to stay short and sweet.

There is enough spark between the characters to light up a city block. And if you’re into romantic suspense and dark thrillers, you’re going to love Corrupt.
