The Hooker and the Hermit – L.H. Cosway & Penny Reid

Well that was… exactly what I needed! Pleasantly surprised doesn’t even begin to cover it. The best part of the story was Ronan Fitzpatrick, who in my opinion, turned out to be a perfect specimen of pure hotness. Just yumm!

Who would’ve thought that amongst all those romances about American football and hockey players, there is this one introducing a hot-tempered, foulmouthed, rugby playing stud, who is not afraid to get down and dirty not only on the field. Besides, just imagine him speaking with this Irish accent…

Now enough about Ronan, let’s talk about Annie Catrel. Very rarely is one character in a book portrayed in two completely opposite ways. Annie is like… Clark Kent. During the day, she sits in an office, avoiding any interaction with people at all costs. She seems shy, isolated, antisocial and kind of xenophobic, if you ask me. But after hours, she turns into ‘The Socialmedialite’, a New York blogging sensation, who is not afraid to say what she thinks and fight for what she believes in, making some powerful friends (and enemies) along the way. Meeting Ronan Fitzpatrick turns Annie’s world upside down, forcing her to face her fears and find a mutual ground between the two very different lives she leads. She needs to get out of her virtual comfort zone and face the real world, in order to get the man of her dreams.

The only thing that annoyed me a little bit was Annie’s reluctance to trust Ronan, even after all the beautiful thing he’s said and done to deserve it! I guess that’s what makes for a good drama story, and adds some angst and suspense.

The chemistry between the two is visible straight away, however the romance itself is a slow build up, so hang tight and enjoy the ride. I promise you won’t regret it!
